Laredo, Texas is a beautiful city south of San Antonio and along the Mexican Border. This area has a unique history and was founded by Tomas Sanchez, a Spanish officer. In 1755, three families settled down in this area. Sanchez then named the town “Villa de San Agustin de Laredo”. He chose this name specifically because Laredo, Spain was the former home of his colonel, Escandon. In the 18th century, common concerns in the area were war, drought, flood, and uncomfortable temperatures. Laredo has advanced quite a bit since then. One way it has advanced is with the invention of cement in 1824. With
concrete retaining walls,
concrete parking lots, and other concrete surfaces, our city is more inhabitable than ever.
Since those first three families settled in Laredo, the population has risen rapidly. Today, the area is home to approximately 256,000 people. As more and more people arrive in the area, the more need there is for residential and commercial concrete services. Luckily, the team at our local cement company, City Ready Mix Inc, is there any time concrete services are needed in Laredo.
